One question that guides my sermon preparation and delivery is, How does this ancient text teach us to live today? With that in mind, I dig into the text to learn how it would have been understood by the writer and his audience at the time. From there it’s a matter of bringing it forward a couple thousand years to understand how it should impact us in the places where we live, work, and play.
